By accessing or using PassTip ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PassTip is a free, privacy-first password generator that operates entirely in your browser. The Service generates passwords, calculates strength and entropy, estimates crack times, and optionally renders QR codes for easy transfer to a mobile device - all on the client side. No passwords or user input are ever transmitted to our servers.
3. No Guarantee of Security
While PassTip uses cryptographically secure random number generation and follows password generation best practices, we make no guarantees that passwords generated using this Service are impervious to attack. Password security depends on length, complexity, storage practices, and the evolving capabilities of attackers. You are solely responsible for choosing appropriate password settings and protecting your generated passwords.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to generate passwords for illegal activities
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or overload our infrastructure
- Use automated scrapers or bots to abuse the Service
- Use the Service in connection with any illegal activity
5. Intellectual Property
The PassTip name, logo, design, and code are the property of their respective owners. The Service is provided as an open-source tool for public use.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PassTip shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service - including but not limited to damages resulting from password compromise, data loss, or unauthorized access.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service loads font files from Google Fonts. No other third-party services are used. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party services.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
