Argon2

Argon2 is a modern password-hashing algorithm designed to be memory-hard against GPU cracking.

Last updated:

Argon2 is a password hashing / KDF competition winner designed to be memory-hard, raising the cost of large-scale parallel cracking.

Why it matters

When sites store passwords with Argon2 (and proper parameters), leaked databases are harder to attack than with fast hashes. Users still need unique, strong passwords.
